These courses are for Mariners seeking a US Coast Guard License as Operator of Un-inspected Passenger Vessels (Six Pack), or 100 Ton Master. These classes are for recreational skippers desiring to have greater mastery of seamanship. The course satisfies the classroom instruction and examination requirements listed in 46 CFR 10.910, Table 10.910-2 in lieu of taking the examinations at a US Coast Guard Regional Examination Center.

Sea Service Requirements to get your license:

OUPV (Six Pack)

• 18 Years of Age
• 360 Days of Sea Service (4-hrs equals one day)
• 90 Days of which must be ocean going for Near Coastal or license limited to Inland Waters
• 90 Days of Sea Service must be in the last 3 years

100 Ton Master

• 19 Years of Age
• 720 Days of Sea Service
• 360 Days of which must be ocean going or limited to Inland Waters
• 360 Days on Auxiliary Sail for Sail Endorsement
• 90 Days of Sea Service must be in the last 3 years
• If all service limited to vessels UNDER 5 GRT, license restricted to 25 Ton
• 1 Day of service on a vessel OVER 5 GRT required for eligibility of 50 Ton license
• 360 Days of service on a vessel OVER 34 GRT required for eligibility of 100 Ton license

* Individuals who complete the 100 Ton Master course and only meet OUPV Sea Service requirements are eligible for Master Inland / OUPV Near Coastal license.
