Ed L.
Ed is a sailor that absolutely loves any excuse to get out on the water. He has participated in Seaforth's BVI Flotilla so Ed can give you some great tips on preparing for goals of sailing abroad. Ed lives about 30 minutes from our locations.
Jack R.
BIO: "My name is Jack. I live in downtown San Diego near the Marriott Marina, so that's where I prefer to sail. My experience includes self-sailing the Caribbean and Greek Isles several times. I owned Catalina 38 for four and a half years in the mid 80's out of Santa Cruz. I have race crewed on Cal 20's & 40's, Santa Cruz 27 and a Ranger 33; currently racing on Santana 35, Jabberwock out of CYC. With about 30 years experience, I love being on the water."
Jack lives downtown and loves sail boats 27 to 36 feet. If you plan on meeting downtown he can meet up with you quite regularly.
Joe H.
BIO: "I have been sailing since boats were made of wood with gasoline engines and alcohol stoves; before fiberglass, diesel and propane were invented. I owned a 13-ton ketch which I have sailed on 3 oceans, and hold a NAVY MWR Offshore Sailing Certificate (but no USCG License). Retired from owning boats, and living on a rock farm in Ramona, I love to sail Seaforth boats in either of San Diego's Bays (or Bay-to-Bay excursions). I am usually available weekends - except when dropping anchor at a desert or mountain raft-up from the bow of my 'landyacht'."
Kat S.
BIO: Kat began sailing as at the age of nine, sailing from California to Mexico as well as in the Caribbean. In college Kat was a member of the UC San Diego sailing team for four years and on the varsity team the majority of the time. As a competitive racer, Kat is very knowledgeable about the finer points of sailing. In addition, Kat has also worked for ActionQuest, a sail training camp for teenagers based on 50 foot sailboats in the British Virgin Islands. She has extensive experience teaching sailing and is certified as a US Sailing Instructor. Kat is currently working towards her 200 ton yacht master license and is looking to gain miles towards this certification. The combination of her love for sailing as well as her experience teaching makes her a fun and enthusiastic companion to go sailing with!
Kat is centrally located in the San Diego beach communities and is very flexible with her availability. Give her a shout!
Ron K.
Ron is a born teacher when it comes to sailing. His calm personality makes it easy for a newer sailor to take the helm. Don't let Ron fool you though - he loves his speed. You will regularly find him on our Hobie Getaway or Windrider trimaran blasting through the bays! Ron lives 30 minutes to an hour away from our locations.
Tim V.
Tim has a lot of sailing under his belt and usually has availability Monday through Friday.
Timo L.
Timo is an active sailor that has gone through ASA 101-106 classes all over the US. Usually when we see Timo out on the water he is sailing with his family. Timo lives by the beach making Mission Bay his closest location.
Tony B.
Tony has 40 years of sailing experience on boats to 30-plus feet. Living in Bay Park, he can get to a Seaforth location fairly quickly.
